Weekend Lounge: New Year’s Winter Wonterland

“Walking in a Winter Wonderland” may be one of those famous holiday tunes, but winter has only just begun. So as the new year is getting started, and as we have another two-and-a-half months of winter to enjoy, I wanted to enjoy a few more of my favorite wintry scenes from Northern Nevada.

These first two shots are from Lake Tahoe while I was on assignment in the area nearly three years ago. The next shots are from another business trip a little over a year later, as I was passing through the Washoe Valley (between Reno and Carson City).

But wait, there’s more… snow!

Finally, we have a few scenes from one of my favorite places on earth: The Carson Valley in Douglas County, just south of Carson City and east of Lake Tahoe. From sunrise to sunset, the snow-filled mountains are always something to behold.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these lovely scenes of winter in Nevada. If you’ve ever wondered where to find the ultimate winter wonderland to walk in, keep in mind that you may just need to open the door and step outside to find it.
