Mesquite, NV – On September 3rd, Mesquite City Police Officers arrested three individuals for drug and firearm violations.
Norman Locke, 48, and Fernando Gonzalez, 41, both from Amargosa Valley, NV, and Joan Swope, 43 from Liman, MI, were taken to Clark County detention center in Las Vegas following a traffic stop by a Mesquite Police Officer.
The Officer observed the driver and front passenger attempting to conceal two rifles. He called for assistance, and officers removed the three safely from the vehicle.
A records check showed that Gonzalez was a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms. The officers also recovered multiple items of drug paraphernalia and crystal methamphetamine from inside the vehicle. All occupants admitted to recently smoking illegal and dangerous drugs. Officers removed fully loaded rifles from the front seat of the car. Each gun had additional rounds in the chamber.
All three face charges of felony possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, felony possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
