Three Arrested On Drug and Child Endangerment Charges In Mesquite, NV

Mesquite, NV – Mesquite Police Officers arrested three adults on various felony drug charges and a felony child endangerment following a traffic stop on Interstate 15 at approximately 9 a.m. June 18th. Child Protective Services took the toddler into protective custody

The Mesquite Police Department Office of Public Information identified the three adult occupants as:

  1. Kivalu Sekona, 25, of South Jordan, UT;
  2. William Kanongataa, 33, of Torrance CA; and
  3. Tupou Sekona, 33, of Sandy UT.

In addition to the felony child endangerment charges, the three adults face felony trafficking of controlled substances including Methamphetamine), Mushrooms, Concentrated Cannabis, and felony possession of 29 lbs. of Marijuana, and possession of Ecstasy

While speaking with the vehicle’s driver, the officer observed evidence of illegal drug activity in the vehicle and initiated an investigation into possible transporting of large amounts of illicit drugs.

The driver gave the officer consent to search the vehicle.  The officer recovered 29.4 pounds of suspected Marijuana, 7.5 pounds of suspected Methamphetamine, 1.14 pounds of Cannabis concentrate, 40.5 grams of suspected mushrooms, 35 grams of an unknown white powdery substance, and $3990 in US currency.
