SLC Man Arrested On Several Drug Charges

Mesquite, NV – On Saturday, May 23rd, Mesquite Police Officers arrested Douglas Wamsley, 59, Salt Lake City, on several felony related drug charges.

Officers discovered a non-responsive Wamsley in a parking lot. They observed illegal drug paraphernalia in plain view on the center console.

According to a Mesquite Police Department, press release, Officers woke Wamsley, and after confirming he was not in medical distress, they placed him under arrest for the drug paraphernalia. A search of Wamsley’s person revealed he had Heroin, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, and a large amount of US currency.

While impounding Wamsley’s vehicle, officers located approximately 151 grams of Heroin, schedule III prescription opiate pills, and more drug paraphernalia. The number of illegal drugs and money recovered indicated to officers that Wamsley was transporting drugs across state lines for distribution. Police charged Wamsley with the following:
• Felony Trafficking of Heroin
• Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
• Felony Possession of Heroin
• Felony Possession of Cocaine
• Felony Possession of Schedule III Controlled Substance
• Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Wamsley was transported and booked into the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.
