LAS VEGAS, NV – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement applauding news of five grants totaling $37,098,054 from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded to Nevada. These HOME Formula Grants are part of the American Rescue Plan Act, COVID-19 relief legislation that Senator Rosen voted to pass in March, and will fund housing projects to provide affordable and safe housing to low-income families across the Silver State.

“Across Nevada, there is a shortage of affordable housing, a situation which is exacerbated by the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now is the time to substantially invest in affordable and safe housing projects and to provide resources to help communities address homelessness during the pandemic,” said Senator Rosen. “I am pleased that HUD recognizes the importance of affordable housing as part of our nation’s recovery efforts and allocated this grant funding to support Nevada’s hard-working families. I will continue prioritizing the health and well-being of Nevada’s communities during this difficult time.”
